Taxi traffic and equipment for taxis

Ordinance amending the Ordinance (2016:623) on reporting centres for taxi traffic

Under the new regulations, holders of taxi traffic licences will be responsible for affiliating the vehicle with a so-called booking centre from the date that a vehicle lacking fare meter equipment is registered for taxi traffic. The license holder will also ensure that the vehicle is fitted with special equipment for taxis. The booking centre will receive and distribute driving assignment orders to those holders of taxi traffic licenses who have vehicles affiliated with the centre. It will also collect, store and, at the request of the Swedish Tax Agency, provide information to the tax inspection office.

The vast majority of the requirements in the new regulations that will be covered by Directive 2015/1535 will be found in official regulations and are not, therefore, the subject of this notification. However, a technical requirement is contained in § 6 of the draft Ordinance amending the Ordinance (2016:623) on reporting centres for taxi traffic. The requirement is that the technical equipment to be used in the booking centre's operations must be certified on the basis of technical equipment regulations contained in the aforementioned official regulations.

A clause on mutual recognition is contained in § 6 of the draft Ordinance amending the Ordinance (2016:623) on reporting centres for taxi traffic.
