The notified draft Mexican Official Standard applies to water meters used to measure the volume of cold potable water and hot water flowing through a fully charged, closed conduit. These water meters incorporate devices which indicate the integrated volume. In addition to water meters that operate mechanically, the notified draft Mexican Official Standard also applies to electric and electronic water meters and to mechanical water meters which include electronic devices, and which are used to measure the volume of cold potable water and hot water. It also applies to electronic auxiliary devices. In general, auxiliary devices are optional. However, it is possible that, in line with international regulations, some auxiliary devices may become mandatory according to the use of water meters.
