The draft ordinance contains requirements for the operation of equipment that emits non-ionising radiation (e.g. laser equipment, intense pulsed light sources, ultrasound equipment, MRT) and is used on humans for cosmetic and other non-medical purposes (permanent hair removal, wrinkle smoothing, tattoo removal, destruction of fatty tissue, muscle stimulation, etc.).

Ordinance on protection against the adverse effects of non-ionising radiation used on humans

The draft ordinance contains regulations to protect against non-ionising radiation used on humans (e.g. laser equipment, intense pulsed light sources, ultrasound, MRT) in fields such as the cosmetics industry. These regulations are based on the Act for the protection against non-ionising radiation used on humans [NiSG].

In addition to general operational safety requirements, e.g. the duty to properly instruct the user in the proper handling of a plant, to maintain the equipment and to educate the person receiving treatment, the draft ordinance specifies requirements concerning the necessary expertise of staff members.
