The Ordinance of the Swiss Federal Office of Communications on telecommu-nications installations (OOIT) specifies the basic technical requirements with regard to telecommunications installations set out by the Swiss Federal Council. It regulates the use of radio interfaces in Switzerland.

The reference to the EU Commission’s decision for requirements for AIS equipment has been updated to take into account the newest decision.

The new article 2a and annex 6 specify how manufacturers have to inform the user on potential restrictions for the use of radio equipment. First of all on the packaging of the radio equipment (either with text in a language understandable by the buyer/user or by using a specific pictogram). Secondly, detailed infor-mation on the restriction shall be in the user manual. These provisions are based on the according delegated act from the EU Commission.

For network relay points (NRP) and network access points (AP) in data networks a new RIR will be created in the range of 870 – 873MHz on a license basis (RIR1003-08). Along with SRR (Short Range Radar) and LRR (Long Range Ra-dar), a new RIR for MRR (Medium Range Radar) will be introduced in the range of 10.000 - 10.040 GHz for landslide monitoring and avalanche detection (RIR1108-06). For Aeronautical telemetry, limited to transmissions from the air-craft to ground station a new RIR in the range on 5091 – 5150 MHz on a license basis will be introduced (RIR0105-01). The range 786 – 789 MHz is not anymore available for radio microphones, hence this RIR will be deleted (RIR1009-17). Since there is no equipment anymore for SAP/SAB P to P video links, the RIR0203-50 in the range 5850 – 5925 MHz will be deleted. The application Indoor Digital Assistive Listening Device Systems in the range 916.1 – 917.7 MHz will be deleted since it has been removed from the ERC/REC 70-03 (RIR1009-19). The RIR 1008-01 in the range 6765 - 6795 kHz will be deleted since this range is al-ready covered by the RIR 1005-02. The RIR1005-05 in the range 26957 - 27283 kHz will be deleted since this range is already covered by the RIR 1008-03. The RIR1006-03 in the range 315 – 600 kHz will be deleted since this range is already covered by the RIR 1005-09. Two RIR’s in the domain of Transport and Traffic Telematics (TTT) in the range 870 – 873 MHz will be removed since they are not anymore covered by the ERC REC 70-03 (RIR1012-09, RIR1012-10). Two RIR’s for data networks and network access points in data networks, will be introduced in the range of 865 – 868 MHz (RIR1003-09, RIR1003-10). Two RIR’s for wideband short range devices in data networks and access points in wide-band short range devices in data networks, will be introduced in the range of 863 – 868 MHz (RIR1003-09, RIR1003-10). The obligation for a license for Road Toll Systems in the range 5805 – 5815 MHz will be removed (RIR1012-06). The range for hearing aids will be changed from 174 – 233 MHz to 173.965 – 223 MHz (RIR1009-12).
