Operation of vehicles and their systems, components and separate technical units in road traffic

Implementing Decree of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic laying down the details of the operation of vehicles in road traffic

The draft implementing decree lays down the details of the operation of vehicles in road traffic with regard to the following:

a) non-roadworthiness of vehicles,

b) maximum authorised dimensions and maximum authorised weights stemming, in particular, from Directive 96/53/EC,

c) aerodynamic devices and aerodynamic cabins stemming from Directive 96/53/EC,

d) conditions for the operation of vehicles in road traffic, in particular: requirements for vehicles related to their weights and dimensions; the connection of vehicles into vehicle combinations and conditions for the operation of said combinations; vehicle bodywork; the field of vision from the driver’s seat and rear-view mirrors; wheels, tyres and snow chains; vehicle noise and pollutant emissions; lighting equipment of vehicles; vehicle speed and speed limitation devices; reverse movement warning devices; marking of vehicles; operation of gas-powered vehicles; operation of special vehicles, and additional accessories for vehicles,

e) mandatory equipment of vehicles,

f) the scope of vehicles using special orange warning lights,

g) requirements for special warning lights and special audible warning signals,

h) requirements for the design of other road vehicles and other special vehicles, including sledge vehicles, bicycles, motorised bicycles, motorised scooters, motorised hand trucks, single-axle tractors with trailers and self-balancing vehicles.

This draft implementing decree transposes Directive 89/459/EEC and Directive 96/53/EC, as amended, into national law.
