Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 387, dealing with dry mixtures for preparing soup. The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follow:

·         Expands the allowed additives to include all foodstuff defined in Israel Public Health Protection Law (Food) 2015 (paragraph 4.2.2); 

·         Replaces the list of allowed food additives with a reference to Israel Public Health Regulations (Food)(Food Additives) 2001 (paragraph 4.2.3);

·         Adds to paragraph 4.2.4 dealing with the taste and smell ingredients, a reference to Israel MOH document issued on 24 June 2015 by the National Food Service dealing with taste and smell ingredients;

·         Removes the requirement for a portion compliance (paragraph 5);

·         Removes the requirements for the following marking: Kosher, number of units in packages larger than 150g and additional marking requirements included in Israel mandatory standard SI 1145 (paragraph 6);

·         Removes from paragraph 7 dealing with contaminants the requirements and test methods for salt content and for ash that does not dissolve in acid;

·         Adds a requirement and test method for water activity, aw (paragraphs 4.4.1 and 8.2);

·         Adds a new paragraph  dealing with contaminants (paragraph 7);

·         Changes the microbiological requirements and their test methods (paragraph 4.5 and table 1). This draft standard revision will enter into force 12 months after publication in Israel Official Gazette.
