Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 841, dealing with canned fish cutlets, to be replaced with SI 291 part 4. The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follow:

·         Expands the standards scope to include all types of fish cutlets (paragraph 1.1);

·         Expands the allowed types of the raw materials and removes the requirement for fresh fish (paragraph 2.1);

·         Expands the options for additives and removes previous limitations (paragraph 2.3);

·         Adds a requirement that limit the minimum percentage of fish content and of fish protein in the final product (paragraph 3.1). Both the old standard and this new revised standard will apply for a period of 6 months from publication in Israel Official Gazette. During this time product may be tested according to the old or the new revised standard, to allow manufacturers and importers to be prepared to the new formulation and packaging requirements.
