Chemical substances and mixtures

The notified draft regulations on the classification, labelling and notification of chemical substances and mixtures establish classification criteria and procedures and labelling, safety data sheet, and notification requirements for chemical substances and mixtures. The regulations implement the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) with a view to informing the population about the dangers of chemical substances and mixtures through common and effective hazard communication, while protecting human health and safety, preserving natural environmental conditions, and preventing misleading practices and any negative effects that could arise from the intrinsic hazard of chemical substances.
