The amendments concerned are being made to update the current regulations and make them more consistent with the Codex Alimentarius reference texts, in particular Standards 072 and 156, and the guidelines in CAC/GL 8. The public consultation only covers the text being put forward for amendment; it does not cover any other parts of the existing text, which will remain the same.
