The additional technical contract conditions and guidelines for landscape works during road construction [Zusätzliche Technische Vertragsbedingungen und Richtlinien für Landschaftsbauarbeiten im Straßenbau – ZTV La-StB] lay down contract conditions for the performance of landscape works during road construction. Said contract conditions address landscape works associated with construction, extension and renovation works, the maintenance of roads, pathways and ancillary works thereof, as well as design, mitigation and compensatory measures taken on the basis of nature conservation law. ZTV La-StB takes into account the fact that the German Construction Contract Procedures [Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Bauleistungen – VOB] Part C: General technical contract conditions for construction work, in particular:

• General technical contract conditions [Allgemeine Technische Vertragsbedingungen – ATV] DIN 18299 ‘General rules applying to all types of construction work’, and

• ATV DIN 18320 ‘Landscape works’ form part of the construction contract.

Contracting authorities are also provided with guidelines for the tender specifications, monitoring and documentation of construction contracts.
