Order on the use of waste for agricultural purposes

The main purpose of amending the order is to insert the parameter ‘physical contaminants’, which is used as a common designation for any undesirable material of a non-chemical nature contained in the waste. Such materials comprise, for example, metal, glass, rubber, plastic, etc., in a visible and non-visible form. Limit values for the presence of physical contaminants in pretreated bio-pulp are introduced and, therefore, it is necessary to take samples from the bio-pulp and test for physical contaminants before it is sent to biogas plants.

It is also proposed that PCB7 be added in Annex 2 with a limit value of 0.2 mg per dry matter and that this limit value will apply to sewage sludge only. Furthermore, samples are only to be taken upon indication.

In addition, a number of linguistic changes and clarifications are proposed, including changes that are not technical regulations for Information Society services and are therefore not relevant to the notification.
