Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations, 2018

The Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations set out the procedure for ad hoc compliance reviews, which are conducted on an ongoing basis in virtue of a risk-based approach in order to ensure continuous adherence by licensees to applicable laws, and formal investigations which are triggered when there is reason to investigate further in light of suspicion of a regulatory breach. They also establish the various enforcement measures which the Authority may deem fit to take in the case of a breach, further to the high-level procedures envisaged in the Gaming Act, including the circumstances in which an authorization may be suspended or cancelled by the Authority, as well as setting out the process for contesting such decisions without prejudice to the right to appeal envisaged in the Act. These regulations also describe in further detail the powers allocated to the officers of the Authority in the execution of their duties to ensure compliance.
