ELOT TS 1501-12-05-02-00 Geotextiles and related products for the protection or drainage of tunnel lining membranes

This Specification concerns all operations, materials and equipment that are required to incorporate a protective or draining cover made out of geosynthetic products (geotextiles or related products, geocomposites, etc.) in road or railway tunnels, at the points of electromechanical installations (housings, enlargements, channels, etc.), in connecting tunnels, at entrance/exit openings, according to the relevant study, in order a) to protect the lining membrane (see ELOT TS 1501-12-05-01-00) and b) to drain water and decrease hydrostatic pressure that may be applied on the soil/rocks.

The full construction of the protection - drainage system through a cover of geosynthetic products includes the procurement, on-site transport of works and storage of the necessary materials (geosynthetic materials, fixing materials, etc.), the provision of manpower and mechanical equipment and machinery that is necessary for the installation of said products, irrespective of their position at the cross-section (i.e. bottom, arch, flanks), the surface preparation works, the installation and fixing operations, as well as operations, equipment and materials used for all kinds of controls - measurements - trials, for the construction and guaranteed functionality of the protective - draining cover, as defined by the Study and the existing specifications.
