ELOT TS 1501-02-07-03-00 Transitional embankments
This specification sets out the requirements for the construction of embankments behind technical constructions (bridge abutments, culverts, retaining walls) with selected ground, non-plastic and sandy gravel materials.
The abovementioned embankments are called transitional embankments and the purpose of their construction is to minimise the failure of the embankment on the perimeter of the technical constructions (due to subsidence) and the resulting consequences on the pavement.
Transitional embankments are often combined with transitional works (e.g. access plates), which do not fall within the scope of this specification.
