Provincial Act amending the Upper Austrian Betting Act [Wettgesetz]

Licence holders must ensure that only persons aged over 18 participate in betting. To that end, a betting customer card is required at betting terminals in case of doubt. Furthermore, a betting customer card is required for any bet where the value of the stake exceeds EUR 70. Pursuant to this amendment, customers can also be identified using biometric recognition procedures.

Moreover, in order to safeguard betting customers, bets where the value of the stake exceeds EUR 500 and live bets (excluding bets placed on a (numerical) interim or final result or an event deriving therefrom, or on which individual or team will next improve their standing) are prohibited.
