Ordinance of the Federal Minister for Agriculture and Forestry, the Environment and Water Management on the quality of fuels and the sustainable use of biofuels

• Introducing the 7 % cap for offsetting traditional biofuels against the 6 % target in Directive 98/70/EC

• Including a 0.5 % target for advanced biofuels with the option for companies to be able to reduce the target following an assessment by UBA GmbH in the case of low levels of attainment

• Introducing sanctions in the form of debt-discharging compensation payments

• Introducing a system in Austria to offset upstream emissions reductions (UERs)

• Extending the reporting requirements of the obligated parties
