Ministerial Order on measures to prevent the spread of diseases via the transport of live birds

The order lays down provisions with regard to preventing the spread of animal diseases that can be transmitted to animals or human beings via the transport of live animals. These provisions particularly involve the design of the means of transport and the containers, the transport scheduling and the transport itself, the access to loading or unloading sites, the separation of animals during transport, the cleaning and disinfecting after transport, the monitoring of the effectiveness of cleaning and disinfecting operations, the equipment to be kept on the means of transport, the tightening of prevention measures during transport in the event of an outbreak, staff training in biosecurity and the obligations for transporters to keep records.
