Processed foodstuffs obtained from certified AQUA products.

Draft technical specifications pursuant to Regional Law No 21 of 13 August 2002 and the regulation governing the use of the collective mark approved by Decree 138 of the Director-General of the Regional Agency for Rural Development dated 27 September 2012 Processed foodstuffs.

These draft technical specifications lay down the technical production, traceability, packaging and storage criteria for processed foodstuffs obtained from AQUA raw materials, which must be complied with to obtain the certificate of conformity described in Regional Law No 21/2002 and the Regulation governing the use of the collective mark, for the purpose of issuing the regional collective quality mark ‘AQUA’ [agricoltura, ambiente, qualità – agriculture, environment, quality] granted by the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.

The document comprises 10 chapters detailing:

- Purpose and legal basis of the specifications;

- Requirements of AQUA certifiable products with regard to agriculture, quality and environment;

- Eligibility conditions for using the mark on certified products;

- Product description and contents of the ‘Product information sheet’ to be attached to the application to use the mark;

- Methods for obtaining processed AQUA foodstuffs;

- Reference to Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 and supplementary requirements for the labelling of processed AQUA products;

- Obligations relating to sales batch encoding;

- Provisions on traceability: organisation and responsibility during processing, packaging, sale, movement between facilities;

- Measures for the mutual recognition of audits envisaged under other certification schemes;

-Reference to the administrative procedures for the issue of the AQUA mark contained in Regional Law No 21/2002 and the 'Regulation on the use of the AQUA mark' supplemented with an obligation to include a product information sheet.
