The Swedish Board of Agriculture's regulations and general advice (SJVFS 2010:15) on livestock farming within agriculture, etc. contain regulations for the following species: cattle, pig, sheep, goat, poultry and rabbit. The statute is repealed and replaced by reprinting six new ones, one for each species.

This notification concerns the reprint of the regulations for poultry (SJVFS 2017:XX), to which certain editorial amendments, as well as some substantive ones, are made. These amendments apply to: freedom of movement (Chapter 1, § 13), the light-related paragraphs concerning the spectral profile for all poultry (Chapter 1, § 33), a ban on the use of barbed wire in fencing (Chapter 1, § 40), the conditional option to keep laying hens and pullets in the stocking density stated in the inspection programme (Chapter 2, §§ 13 and 17), regulations for breeding animals within broiler production with regard to perches, adult hens and pullets (Chapter 4, §§ 5 and 11), introduction of measurements for feeders for cocks (Chapter 4, § 10), regulations for breeding animals within broiler production with regard to windows (Chapter 4, § 17).

Chapter 1, § 13. The paragraph on freedom of movement concerning the tying together of body parts, etc. is amended so that it applies irrespective of where the animal is kept and not only during grazing, as is currently the case.

Chapter 1, § 33. The light-related paragraphs concerning the spectral profile for all poultry are amended and the level of detail for the provision is reduced.

Chapter 1, § 40. The use of barbed wire is fencing is banned

Chapter 2, §§ 13 and 17. A conditional option is introduced to keep laying hens and pullets in the stocking density previously permitted only in the inspection programme.

Chapter 4, §§ 5 and 11. For breeding animals within broiler production, currently permitted perches are replaced by raised seats for adult poultry; for pullets, the number of perches is reduced.

Chapter 4, § 10. Measurements for feeders for cocks are introduced.

Chapter 4, § 17. Sheds for breeding animals within broiler production are not required to have windows.
