Service providers in the accommodation sector (e.g. operators of online platforms)

Act amending the Tourism Act

The draft lays down a notification requirement for service providers in the accommodation sector (e.g. operators of online platforms). The notification must include the identification details from the service provider's business records (title, name, gender, date of birth, legal status), as well as the contact details of the accommodation providers registered therewith (telephone number, any e-mail addresses) and all of the addresses for accommodation registered therewith.

In addition, the municipality or the municipal association acting on their behalf shall be authorised to enter into agreements with service providers in the accommodation sector regarding the tourist tax to be paid as well as the notification requirement. In this case, both the service provider and the accommodation provider shall be liable for the tourist tax.
