The ordinance concerns historic vessels that the general public enjoys seeing in operation (traditional ships).
Ordinance amending the ship safety regulations on the construction and equipping of traditional ships and other vessels not subject to international ship safety regulations
The ordinance regulates the safety requirements for traditional vessels. Specifically it contains regulations on the following:
- Construction of ships, layout and stability, engines and electrical systems
- Fire protection
- Rescue equipment
- Radio equipment
- Navigational equipment
- Safe vessel operation
- Marine environment protection
- Medical care
- Registration of persons on board
- Requirements for sail training ships
