‘Bread’ means an edible baked good, the characteristic ingredients of which are:

• water or milk;

• a leavening agent, on the understanding that it is not a required ingredient in rye bread;

• grain kernels (cracked or crushed), gluten-free grains, or buckwheat seeds;

• salt.

Amendments to the Commodities Act Decree on flour and bread and the Commodities Act Decree on administrative penalties vis-à-vis an amendment to the definition of bread, the application of the salt content standard to bread, and certain technical amendments

The main reason for amending the Commodities Act Decree on flour and bread is to ensure the application of the salt content standard to all bread consumed on a(n) (almost) daily basis by consumers as an important part of their basic diet.
