Temporary ban on the importation of live poultry, pigeons, other birds, eggs (excluding SPF eggs), fresh and frozen poultry meat from Spain, Israel, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Hungary, France and the United Kingdom by South Africa
Following notifications published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) regarding outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) in poultry in France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom, South Africa is applying precautionary sanitary measures to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from Spain. These measures include temporary bans on the importation of live poultry, pigeons and other birds, eggs (excluding SPF eggs) fresh and frozen poultry meat from France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom.
