Draft Regulation on the Residue Limit for Impurity Heavy Metal Cadmium Contained in Cosmetics and Draft Regulation on the Management of Barium in Cosmetics (2 page(s), in Chinese)

The Food and Drug Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare, proposes the following regulations for cosmetics:

1.       To lower the maximum level from 20 ppm to 5 ppm for impurity heavy metal Cadmium. 

2.         To prohibit the use of Barium salts, with the exception of barium sulfate, barium sulphide, and of insoluble barium salts, lakes and pigments prepared from colouring agents.
