Steel wire ropes are subject to the mandatory inspection under the certification system of the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) . BSMI will adopt the revised CNS 941 "wire ropes" (2015) as the new testing and inspection standard, instead of the current CNS 941 (2000) . The BSMI is proposing that, beginning from 1 July 2018, wire ropes covered in the inspection scope must comply with revised CNS 941 when imported or placed on the market. The conformity assessment procedure of the steel wire ropes is Batch-by-Batch Inspection or Registration of Product Certification (RPC) Scheme.
