Strollers and carriages
Proposal for amendment to legal inspection of strollers and carriages (1 page(s), in English; 1 page(s), in Chinese)

The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection intends to make changes to the inspection standards for strollers and carriages by adopting the updated version of CNS 12940, which was published on 10 September 2013, to provide better protection for children. The new version of CNS 12940 includes requirements of maximum load up to 15kg, labelling of maximum user weight, and compliance of toys attached to the product with CNS 4797 in terms of the limits of total amount of 8 phthalates (DMP, DEP, DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP and DNOP) as well as 8 heavy metals (Sb, As, Ba, Cd, Cr, Pb, Hg and Se) .

The conformity assessment procedure of strollers and carriages remains unchanged, i.e. batch inspection or registration of product certification.
