The above mentioned standard mainly specifies requirements for energy efficiency labeling of storage type electric water heater up to capacity of 500 liters. This standard does not apply to safety requirements of water heaters. This standard does not apply to instantaneous water heaters and water heaters that use gas, solid or liquid fuels, solar water heaters and water heaters designed for making hot drinks only freezers.
