The goods covered include only processed foods falling
within the competence of the Ministry of Health (foods subject to heat treatment,
smoking, industrial drying, roasting or dehydrating; dry mixtures for infusions and
condiments; and foods that are blanched, pickled or in brine, inter alia). In the case of
flours and meals, only fortified flour is included. The Annex listing the tariff sub-headings
in question can be consulted by following the hyperlinks in point 5 below.

alimentos industrializados y productos pesqueros y acuícolas (Draft Regulations
implementing Legislative Decree No. 1222 on the optimization of administrative
procedures and strengthening of sanitary control over processed foods and fishery and
aquaculture products)

The notified Regulations establish the following:

6.1.  Administrative procedures and requirements for sanitary certification (general principles of hygiene and official technical validation of the HACCP Plan) in relation to the manufacture, bulk-breaking/packaging, storage and marketing of processed foods and food additives for the domestic market and for export;

6.2.  Administrative penalty procedure applied in the context of the determination of administrative offences falling within the competence of the Department of Environmental Health and Food Safety Control of the DIGESA, and procedure for the imposition of penalties and additional measures; and

6.3.  Rules governing the labelling of processed foods.
