The notified draft Mexican Official Standard applies to natural and legal persons that produce, import and market lubricating oils for four-stroke petrol engines and/or lubricating oils for two-stroke and four-stroke diesel engines in Mexican territory. The draft Standard does not cover lubricating oils used in boats and motorcycles with petrol engines, or lubricating oils used in locomotives and boats with diesel engines.
