HS code 02.07 - Meat and edible offal, of the poultry of heading 01.05, fresh, chilled or frozen.

The Director-General of the National Animal Health Service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock has decided the following:

1.  To order the temporary suspension of importation into Costa Rica from Chile of edible chilled and frozen chicken and turkey products from slaughterhouses, processing plants and cold-storage plants, which were produced 21 days prior to the beginning of the outbreak of notifiable avian influenza reported by the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) .

2.  SENASA will resume trade in the aforementioned goods three months after the application of the measures established in Article 10.4.3, subparagraph 2, of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code.

3.  To order the Animal Quarantine Directorate to remain vigilant for new reports of notifiable avian influenza, and to take relevant action.
