Resolución N° 086-2016-ARP-SFE bis. (Resolution No. 086-2016-ARP-SFE bis.)

1. The notified Resolution establishes the mandatory phytosanitary requirementsgoverning the importation into Costa Rica of fresh avocados from the Dominican Republic:a. Shipments require an official phytosanitary certificate issued by the country oforigin, which indicates, in the section for additional declarations, that they are freefrom Ceroplastes rusci, Aonidiella orientalis, Aulacaspis tubercularis andMaconelicoccus hirsutus.b. General requirements for products to be consumed fresh: Products must beproperly packaged and labelled, and be free from plant residues, soil, snails andslugs. They will be subject to phytosanitary control at the point of entry.2. Shipments will be inspected upon arrival in the country by officials from the StatePhytosanitary Service at the point of entry. Compliance with the phytosanitaryrequirements will be verified.3. Failure to comply with the phytosanitary requirements established in this Resolution willbe punishable in accordance with Law No. 7664, the Plant Protection Law and itsimplementing Regulations.
