Modificación del Artículo 173 del Reglamento Sanitario de Los Alimentos, Decreto Supremo N° 977/96 del Ministerio de Salud (Amendment to Article 173 of the Food Health Regulations, Supreme Decree No. 977/96 of the Ministry of Health)
The notified proposal sets out an amendment to Article 173("Microbiological Specifications by Food Group") of the Food Health Regulations.The first table of microbiological specifications subject to the proposed amendment isTable 9.1.- DRIED FORMULA FOR CHILDREN UNDER 12 MONTHS OLD. This table has beenamended to include microbiological parameters for Cronobacter sakazakii. No otherparameters have been changed.Subdivisions have been introduced in some tables, following minor changes to foodclassification specifications. Table 14.2.- PRE-PROCESSED EDIBLE FRUITS ANDVEGETABLES READY FOR CONSUMPTION will be changed to 14.2.- PRE-PROCESSEDFRUITS AND VEGETABLES and subdivided into two categories:14.2.1.- Pre-processed edible fruits and vegetables ready for consumption (proposalsubmitted for public consultation)14.2.2.- Pre-processed edible fruits and vegetables that require cooking (no proposalas yet)It should be noted that pre-processed fruits and vegetables are taken to mean fruits andvegetables, whether or not combined, that are processed for consumption in such a way asto be kept organoleptically fresh through actions such as the removal of non-edible parts,chopping, slicing, grinding, dicing, centrifuging, sanitization and packaging, the shelf life ofwhich is prolonged through the reduction and control of microbiological content and theuse of packaging and other technological processes.In light of the above, amendments have also been made to Table 15.2. - MEALS ANDMIXED DISHES WITH RAW AND/OR COOKED INGREDIENTS, INCLUDING SANDWICHES, soas to ensure the consistency of the applicable microbiological criteria.
