The first text amends and supplements Supreme Decree No. 26/2000 of the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, which establishes the safety features applicable to light motor vehicles, including anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic stability programme (ESP) devices.

A timetable has been established to ensure that vehicles entering the country are fitted with ABS and ESP devices. The second text amends Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications Resolution No. 48/2000, which lists the international standards to be met by ABS and ESP devices.
