Live poultry (HS Code: 0105), and poultry products including poultry meat (HS Code: 0207), day-old chicks (HS Code: 0105.11), hatching eggs, except heat-treated meat

United Arab Emirates is imposing a temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from Greece, and imposition of a temporary ban on poultry meat and table eggs from Peloponnisos province in Greece.

Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on 18 January 2017 regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) in Peloponnisos province in Greece, United Arab Emirates is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from Greece. These measures include:

1.  Temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-products, day-old chicks and hatching eggs originating from Greece;

2.  Temporary ban on poultry meat and table eggs and their untreated products from Peloponnisos province in Greece, except heat-treated products;

3.  Consignments of poultry meat shipped from Peloponnisos province in Greece before 18 December 2016 were permitted.
