Live poultry (HS Code: 0105), and poultry products including poultry meat (HS Code: 0207), day-old chicks (HS Code: 0105.11), hatching eggs, except heat-treated meat

United Arab Emirates is imposing a temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and imposition of a temporary ban on poultry meat and table eggs from Prijedor in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on 13 February 2017 regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) in Prijedor in Bosnia and Herzegovina, United Arab Emirates is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from Bosnia and Herzegovina. These measures include:

1.  Temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-products, day-old chicks and hatching eggs originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina;

2.  Temporary ban on poultry meat and table eggs and their untreated products from Prijedor in Bosnia and Herzegovina, except heat-treated products; and

3.  Consignments of poultry meat shipped from Prijedor in Bosnia and Herzegovina before 20 January 2017 were permitted.
