The above-mentioned draft decree amends a legislative text on the uniform of the integrated police

Draft Royal Decree amending the Royal Decree of 10 June 2006 on the
uniform of the integrated police service with a two-tier structure

The draft provides for the introduction of a two-tone colour scheme which can used on the items of basic equipment, whereas the Royal Decree of 10 June 2006 currently specifies that all items of basic equipment must be monochrome. The items in question are shown in colour in the draft text annexed to this message.

The two-tone concept was presented to trade union organisations at the negotiating committee for the police services of 12 June 2015. Driven by safety and visibility concerns and keen to ensure uniformity across the country, the trade union organisations agreed that blue and orange should be the two colours used on the two-tone items of basic equipment.

For the time being, the two-tone colour scheme will only be used on two of the items of basic equipment. The draft royal decree provides for the introduction of a two-tone parka and a two-tone softshell jacket that can be integrated into the parka. The other items of basic equipment will remain monochrome for now.
