Requirements for buildings due to the special needs of persons with disabilities

The regulation establishes updated and more specific requirements for buildings due to the special needs of persons with disabilities, in order to ensure unobstructed movement and use of the building, including the availability of relevant information.

According to § 11(4) of the Building Code, the minister responsible for the area may make regulations to specify the requirements for construction works. This is done in the regulation - it defines the buildings to which accessibility requirements apply and the ways of ensuring accessibility. In order to ensure that persons with disabilities have the opportunity to move around safely, live independently and participate in all aspects of life, appropriate measures must be taken, at least to the extent stipulated in the draft.
