Amendment of the Regulation on more detailed provisions regarding inspection activity

Due to the Regulation on assessment criteria for the periodic inspection of vehicles, which enters into force on 20 May 2018 and in turn implements Directive 2014/45/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on periodic roadworthiness tests for motor vehicles and their trailers and repealing Directive 2009/40/EC, it is proposed that, in the Finnish Transport Safety Agency Regulation on more detailed provisions on inspection activity (TRAFI/597/03.04.03.00/2013), a leak detector be added to the equipment requirements for the inspection of vehicles operating on LPG/CNG/LNG, and that the requirements regarding the brake dynamometer necessary for testing light vehicles be updated so that it refers to the braking ratios specified in the Finnish Transport Safety Agency Regulation on the periodic inspection of vehicles instead of those specified in the repealed Directive. Furthermore, references in the regulation to government decrees issued by virtue of the repealed Measuring Instruments Act (707/2011) have been amended to decrees that are currently in force.
