Measurement systems for quantitative measurements of liquids other than water and measurement systems for measurements of gaseous gas (as opposed to liquefied or solidified) in portions

Order on the use of measurement systems for quantitative measurements of liquids other than water and measurements of gaseous gas (as opposed to liquefied or solidified) in portions

The purpose of the draft order is to lay down requirements on measurement systems that are used for quantitative measurements of liquids other than water or measurements of gaseous gas (as opposed to liquefied or solidified) in portions – and where payments are made on the basis of the measurements – but not covered by Directive 2014/32/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of measuring instruments (the Measuring Instruments Directive – MID). Another purpose is to lay down requirements concerning owners of these measurement systems (both those that are covered by the MID and those that are not) when such a measurement system is in use.

Under the draft, measurement systems that are used for quantitative measurements of liquids other than water or measurements of gaseous gas (as opposed to liquefied or solidified) in portions and not covered by the MID shall meet corresponding requirements for a comparable measurement system covered by the MID, or meet the requirements of relevant standards or OIML recommendations. The equipment supplier shall, upon request by the Danish Safety Technology Authority, be able to demonstrate that a measurement system meets the requirements and the supplier shall keep the relevant documentation for 10 years after the measurement system has been placed on the market.

Additionally, a number of requirements are listed for owners of measurement systems regarding which measurement system is to be used, accuracy classes, self-monitoring and reverification.
