ELOT TS 1501-11-03-04-00 Soil piles using jet grouting

Approval of seventy (70) Hellenic Technical Specifications (HTS), the application of which is mandatory in all public works and studies

ELOT TS 1501-11-03-04-00 Soil piles using jet grouting

The operations provided for in this Specification concern the application, control and recording of all necessary parameters of the different stages of soil pile construction using jet grouting, including all usual systems and applied techniques.

The construction of soil piles may have the following purposes:

1) to improve the load bearing capacity and rigidity of geomaterials in order for them to be able to safely bear loads and to limit the size of the expected distortions (i.e. foundation of superstructure, Figure 1 and underpinning of superstructure, Figure 2);

2) to reduce the danger of fluidisation of a loose soil formation;

3) to limit the flow of water or other liquids within a relatively permeable formation and in general to promote the waterproofing process;

4) a combination of the above.

This Specification does not include simple grouting operations in soft soil or rock formations that are covered by the respective specification on cement grouting.

For any aspects not covered by this Specification, special reference is made to the ELOT EN 12716 standard.
