Approval of seventy (70) Hellenic Technical Specifications (HTS), the application of which is mandatory in all public works and studies

ELOT TS 1501-04-04-03-02 Sanitary ware for disabled persons

The works described in this Specification concern the installation of sanitary ware for disabled persons in public use buildings, their connection to the water-supply and sewage systems and the affixing of special parts and components of different shapes and kinds to the sanitary ware, as well as the necessary joining or affixing materials, etc. in order to ensure a complete structure for all kinds of sanitary ware.

Matters regarding the dimensions and designs of sanitary facilities for disabled people are regulated by Law 4067/2012 (Government Gazette 79/A) “New Construction Regulations” as well as by the instructions on design entitled “Design for all” issued by the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, to which the New Construction Regulations refer, as regards the implementation of interventions relevant to the accessibility of infrastructure to people with disabilities.

Special sanitary ware that may be required for residential or healthcare spaces for disabled people in special facilities (e.g. special healthcare facilities) are not included in the Greek Technical Specification.
