This RVS shall apply to corrosion prevention for steel and aluminium structures in bridge construction and for structures under similar loads.

This RVS shall apply to bearings and road joint structures, unless this is illogical due to the finished state at the time of delivery.

With respect to corrosion prevention, the construction-specific provisions of the respective special regulations and special guidelines (Austrian standards ÖNORM B 4021 and ÖNORM B 4031, ETAG 032, RVS 15.04.51) shall also apply.

This RVS does not relate to:

anti-corrosion measures for high-strength steels (e.g. prestressing steels, track ropes);

cathodic corrosion prevention;

the use of stainless steels and other high-alloy steels;

the extent of coating for road joint structures.
