The draft decree contains provisions regarding safety, health, sustainability and usability when renovating/building a structure, the conditions and use thereof, as well as on carrying out construction and demolition works.

Draft Decree laying down rules for structures in the physical living environment (Structures (Living Environment) Decree)

The draft decree contains general rules for structures and for construction and demolition works. It combines various existing general administrative regulations and ministerial orders into a single decree. The aim of these rules is to ensure a minimum level of quality for structures as well as fire-safe use. In doing so, sustainability must also be taken into account. Furthermore, health and safety within the immediate surroundings of construction and demolition works, as well as sustainability when separating construction and demolition waste, must be ensured. Moreover, access to new structures and their immediate surroundings must be provided for disabled people.

Most of the provisions in the draft decree contain technical regulations.

This draft decree contains a mutual recognition clause (Article 1.2).
