Technical guideline for the automated information procedure pursuant to § 112 of the Telecommunications Act

On the basis of § 112(3), sentence 3 of the Telecommunications Act, in conjunction with §§ 1 and 10 of the Ordinance on the automated information procedure for disclosing customer data pursuant to § 112 of the Telecommunications Act [Kundendatenauskunftsverordnung – KDAV], the technical guideline describes the technical details of the automated information procedure between the Federal Network Agency and the requesting entities as well as between said agency and obligated parties. The aim of the guideline is to fill in the technical gaps in the legal framework created by the Telecommunications Act and the KDAV by describing the technical details of the automated information procedure and making them mandatory. The technical guideline is of particular importance because further specifying and stipulating the technical details creates the bases for regulatory measures for cases where the technical specifications are not adhered to or not fully adhered to.
