The amendment prescribes that as of 1 November 2017, computer programmes used for prescription shall be able to

- send the prescription data to the electronic prescription records (electronic prescription management and registration system) of the National E-Health Services Platform (hereinafter: ‘NEHSP’),

- print the unique identification code (as of 1 January 2019, the unique identification code and group identification code) of the electronic prescription registered in NEHSP with a barcode,

- prepare and print the prescription receipt for the electronic prescription sent to the NEHSP prescription records,

- query and show the medication history from the data of the NEHSP prescription records provided by the NEHSP,

- query and show the health profile data provided by the NEHSP.

Amendment of Minister for Health Decree No 53/2007 of 7 December 2007 on the rules for certification of the computer programme to be used for prescription

Inter alia, complementing the requirements of computer programmes to be used for prescription makes it possible to introduce an e-prescription system and thus apply electronic medical prescriptions smoothly, as well as apply current healthcare processes that rely on paper-based medical prescription, with a view to safer and personalised manner.
