Draft Flemish Government Decree amending the Royal Decree of 24 September 2006 laying down the general regulations for shipping on Belgium's inland waterways and the Royal Decree of 19 March 2009 on the technical requirements for inland waterway vessels

The draft decree covers the introduction of a general obligation for inland waterway vessels (both cargo vessels and passenger vessels) operating in Flemish waterways to have on board and use an Automatic Identification System (AIS) device. In line with this, the draft also makes the technical requirements for the AIS and the Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) device identical to the ones that apply to navigation on the Rhine.
