Draft Minister for National Economy Decree on the metrological requirements for measuring instruments designed to record the axle load of road vehicles in motion
WIM devices can be placed in circulation, installed and operated if they meet the requirements laid down in the draft. The manufacturer and distributor of the WIM device initiates a type-examination procedure in order to attest the WIM device’s compliance with the metrological requirements, during which the metrology authority designated by the Government Decree examines and verifies that the type of WIM device handed over or presented for type examination complies with the requirements laid down in the draft. A relevant compliance certification licence will then be issued. The metrology authority issues an authentication certificate of the WIM device deemed to be compliant during the individual examination, and places the verification marks and seals specified in the certification licence on the WIM device.
