This RVS regulates the requirements for the design and dimensioning of traffic noise protection walls on bridges and other structures (e.g. supporting walls) as part of public transport routes. Noise deflectors in tunnel areas are not covered by this RVS. It is, in principle, applicable to the new construction of bridges and other structures and to the new construction or raising of traffic noise protection walls on existing structures.

Repair measures are not covered by this RVS since, in these instances, only the original state need be restored. Acoustic requirements are not covered by this RVS.
