Radio transmitter connected to the Linky meter to transmit electricity consumption data
Order defining the minimum interoperability specifications of the radio transmitter mentioned in Article D. 337-17-1-3 of the Energy Code
Article L. 337-3-1 of the Energy Code states the following: 'For household consumers who benefit from special pricing [.], the provision of metering data [.] is accompanied by a supplier offer to transmit consumption data, expressed in euros, via a remote real-time display device. The provision of these services and devices does not give rise to billing.'.The decree specifying said provision states the following: 'If the option proposed to the electricity consumer involves the transmission of data by the meter via a radio transmitter, said transmitter shall meet the minimum technical specifications for interoperability as set out by an Order of the Minister for Energy.'.The draft decree put to the Higher Energy Council for an opinion specifies the minimum technical specifications for interoperability.Notably, it specifies that:- the radio transmitter responds to standardised and open specifications;- the transmission of data by the radio transmitter is encrypted to ensure consumer data security;- the transmitter transmits data on two frequency bands, according to two open and standardised protocols. This will ensure the transmission of data regardless of the configuration of the consumer's home.
