The grant scheme will support the uptake of ultra-low emission taxis in the UK by providing funding for charging units. A separate GBER notification will follow in the new year for a separate scheme to support the purchase of ULEV taxis.

Ultra Low Emission Taxi Scheme

The ULEV taxi scheme will provide up to £15m of grant funding over 2 years (February 2017 - March 2018) up to 15 UK local authorities. The 15 authorities will compete for funding to support the needs for EV charging infrastructure for their local taxi fleets to transition to ULEVs. The funding will provide up to 75% of the funding for the required local infrastructure.
